There are many options for perforation and machining of the panels. Acoustic panels have perforations completely through the panel, and staple backed with black felt backing.
Perforation patterns include holes, slots and grooves in varying sizes and configurations.
Holes:
Holes can be in a staggered pattern or straight and vary from 3mm round to 8mm round.
Slots:
Slots can be grouped into banks in various widths and lengths and also run vertically or horizontally on the panel.
Multigroove:
Grooves can vary in width and spacing to form a multigrooved tongue & groove look acoustic panel.
All panels are finished in the factory. Featurecraft clear flat varnish is our standard finish
Some white wash & stains are available if matching to other finishers is required. Please contact us today.
Painted options are also available eg Matte Black paint on black MDF. Other colors available on request. Contact us today.
For maximum acoustic performance we recommend that panels are installed over 20 -100mm acoustic blanket. Depending of the perforation pattern NRC values of up to 0.95 are achievable.
The colours shown are as accurate as possible, but we recommend that you request product samples before making a final selection.
All timber species have their own natural variations of colour and grain and product samples may not fully reflect the colour variation that can occur.
The standard veneer cut we work with is Crown Cut unless specified otherwise . Other species and veneer slicing techniques eg quarter may be also be available on request. Contact us today.
Panels can be screw fixed onto timber framed or steel framed walls. Most walls have battens or studs at 600 centers and we recommend fixing around the top and bottom edges at 250 centers and the side edges & through the middle of the sheet at 440mm centers – see typical screw fix pattern for 2400 x 1200 sheets. Download PDF here
Screw fix can be used when there is 3-4mm gap between the sheets. Recommended screws are 6 or 8 gauge stainless steel countersunk wood screws 30mm long. Screw can be stainless steel or powder-coated to match the face of the panel if required.
Screw fix is recommended for acoustic panels as these have the felt backing which limits the use of construction adhesive.
Refer to screw fix installation for best practices.
Suspended ceiling installation includes Rondo suspended ceiling systems.
