Te Aukati | 136 Fanshawe Street

136 Fanshawe Street’s new development, Te Aukati, is a building which is at once bold yet topographically and contextually sensitive. The building is enriched with historical and cultural significance, as well as showcasing world-leading sustainability and green building practices.

The two buildings (one eight-levels and one seven-levels) span 23238m2 and are connected by a large-scale central atrium staircase and interconnecting air bridges, making the building a thriving home to eight commercial and hospitality tenants.

Featurecraft’s Fire Rated MDF was used under both the atrium staircase and air bridges, to turn these normally dull areas into functional features. The MDF was finished in matte black, perforated with holes for acoustic performance and fitted with LED strip lighting to make the ultimate understated feature.

Our custom grid screening lines one of the buildings hospitality spaces, creating a unique shell that also spans the side of the stairwell working in cohesion with surrounding timber products. This bespoke grid was constructed from Fire Rated MDF battens finished with an American White Oak Veneer in a stylised beehive configuration.

Offering public connectivity, exciting workplaces, openness and lightness, Te Aukati has quickly become a paradigm of world-leading design and sustainability. The building has won numerous accolades and has proudly gained the following accreditations:

6 Green Star Office Design rating (July 2021)

6 Green Star Office Built rating (September 2023)

5 star NABERSNZ rating (2023)
